The DDE CHAMPS Snowboarding comp went off last saturday at Ski Dubai and was a great success!

The Dubai Desert Extreme Am Champs 2009 marks the event’s 9th year of showcasing and bringing together the best (dare we say it..) “EXTREME” talent in the region. Every year has been amazing and Rage has been behind the event which has seen the skate scene develop to where its at now from the very beginning.

Come down and take part, bring your family and friends, watch stuff go down and this year we’re stoked to be introducing Snowboarding to the event.

THURSDAY, DEC 10TH:

Location: Skate Jam at the Rage Bowl @ Rage Shop, The Dubai Mall

Time: Sign up (3pm-5pm), Competition (5pm-6pm)

Format: Best Trick Contest within time period

Divisions: All skaters

Fee: 30dhs

FRIDAY, DEC 11TH:

Location: Skateboarding & BMX Championships at Rage Skatepark, Dubai Festival City.

Time: Sign up (10am-1pm), Competition (2pm onwards)

Format: Single runs. 2 single runs except for pro, which have 3 runs. All 45 seconds long except for pro, who have a whole minute. Whole park for runs.

Divisions:
Skate - Junior (14 and below - Novice/Advanced) / Senior (15 and up) / Pro (Sponsored Riders)
BMX - 2 division. Junior/senior

Fee: Comp entrance is 30dhs and includes a free t shirt/25dhs normal rate for non competitors)

SATURDAY, DEC 12TH:

Location: Snowboarding Championships at Ski Dubai, Mall of the Emirates

Time: Sign up at Ski School (6.30pm - 7.30pm), Competition (7:30pm onwards)

Format: Single runs down length of slope. 3 runs in total. Plus best trick on an obstacle.

Divisions: Juniors/Seniors

Fee: 180dhs
